Wooster 6th at British Young Horse Championships
We've just returned from the British Young Horse Championships at Addington Manor with three of our young horses; 2 Stallions and a very promising young Mare, Warissa. We produced these horses specifically for this event which showcases the best young horse talent in Britain and were absolutely delighted with their performance. Wooster was 6th in the British Bred 5yr old Championships with Zalaraco and Warissa unlucky to have one fence down in their classes.

Allround wins Munster Grand Prix 2008
Allround, currently competing in Germany with Adolfo Pacheo won the Munster Grand Prix 2008 on 24th May 2008. Allround and Trouebadour are enjoying great success in Germany and having some of the older Stallions competing abroad not only raises our profile in Europe, but allows us to concentrate on the younger stallions at home.

Allround, Troebadour S standing in Germany 2008
During April the 3 stallions Allround Troebadour S and Wooster travelled to Germany for Trainning with Adolfo Pacheco. The horses have all improved greatly and the trip proved a success. The decission was taken that it would be of benefit to leave both Allround and Troebadour out there to compete in international classes. Allround has allready had success being placed 4th in a 1.35m class at his first show. It now allows the the stud to concentrate on the production of its young jumping stallions for 2008.

New Heartbreaker Stallion Arrives at Braeface
On one of our recent trips we purchased a rising 4 year old Heartbreaker stallion called Zalaraco.
He is stunning in looks, is short coupled, floats along the ground and is a fine example of a modern day sports horse. He is broken and riding under saddle and will be produced for the age classes this year. His profile will be added shortly to the stallion page. He will join Cassallo z and Zapata the other 4 year old stallions as we choose to keep a young team of horses for the next couple of seasons to compete in all the age classes.

Scottish Sports Horse 2008 Stallion Grading
On March 1st 2008 Braeface will participate in the SSH 2008 Stallion Grading, held this year at Dabbs Show and Activity Centre, Fife. Braeface Stallions entered are Acordo O, Cassalo Z, Will He Be and Zapata.
We have had tremendous success at the SSH Stallion Grading in previous years. In 2003 we won the top five places with Allround (Approved), Stryker and Salerno (Licensed) and Trouebadour and Toy Boy (Registered). In 2004 Schiller achieved Approved status, followed by success with Wooster in 2006 as Licensed. We have high hopes for our three young Stallions this year.
The Stallion Grading provides an opportunity for breeders to showcase their stallions and achieve one of three levels of grading (licensed, registered and listed) to enter the SSH Stud book. Licensed stallions can be promoted to Approved status providing that they compete successfully in Dressage, Show jumping, Eventing or Endurance and produce a minimum of 12 foals forward for grading.
Stallions are assessed for correctness of conformation, quality of movement, health and soundness, and jumping ability. Stallions are required to present full x-rays prior to Grading and undergo a full five stage vetting at the grading. They can only be presented for the loose schooled phase of the assessment providing they pass the veterinary inspection.

He then went on later in the year to win the 3 year old loose jumping Championship, his stable mate Wicker was third making it a very successful evening. Allround won many championship classes throughout the year achieved his BSJA silver elite status and won in excess of £20,000 ensuring him of a place in the BSJA top 50 ranked horses. He also romped home in the Scottish points championship by a few thousand points ahead of his closest contenter.
Move to new site
2007 saw the move to the new site, which was a mammoth task but the horses have coped well with being farmed out to their riders and various friends without whom we could not have managed. A big thank you to all of them.
